A BIG Marketing Lesson…

by Vitaly Grinblat on March 11, 2010

Ok, so everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon of making money online.

But let me tell you about the NUMBER ONE fundamental rule of making money…

… The Amount of Money You Make Is In Direct Proportion To The VALUE You Provide!

People spend money not to buy STUFF, but to get SOLUTIONS to their problems.

Let’s look at this a little closer.

When someone goes out and buys a 52″ flat screen LCD, like I did :) they’re not buying simply a TV. They’re buying the emotional appeal of watching the Olympics or Hockey or American Idol on a big screen, in living color…

… and to impress friends and relatives that come over.

Oh yeah, don’t be fooled for a second that when people buy luxuries, that it’s because they really want to spend top $$ for the best.

No it’s because they want to feel better and look better.

(Just watch a recent AUDI commercial where they pick on people who bought BMW’s, Mercedes, and Lexus)

When people buy expensive furniture, they’re NOT just buying a couch and a love seat.

They’re buying the comfort, the luxurious feel, and the status symbol that goes along with THAT KIND of furniture.

How about when people go out and spend money on brand name clothes?

They’re buying the comfort and the “look” they’ll get in these designer jeans, sweaters, suits, etc…..

The weight loss industry has figured this out a long time ago.

People don’t buy diets and exercise equipment.

They buy the concept of “lose 20 lbs in the next 3 weeks”

They have a problem and they’re buying a solution.

A big marketer once said, that when people buy drill bits at Home Depot, they’re not buying the drill bits, they’re buying the
HOLE (think about that for a minute)

They don’t need the drill bit, they need a HOLE (problem), and the drill bit is the solution.

So if you want to make money, think about what problems could you solve.

Because as marketers that’s what we are, problem solvers.

And the ones that can solve the most problems, make the most money.

One way you can do that is by simply ASKING them, like a survey ;)

*** This is one of the things I’m going to be teaching in my upcoming training, shortly, so stay tuned.
