I just realized it’s been almost 2 months since I’ve posted to the blog. But that’s what happens when you keep busy
I promise to start posting more often.
Between activities that my daughter has: tennis, martial ars, dancing, and me trying to do some actual work, time is becoming an issue.
Fortunately I have the kind of a business that works whether I do or not, and I can work around my schedule.
A couple of thoughts I want to share today about becoming RICH! (if that interests you)
Back in 1995 I started with a financial services company, as an independent rep (meaning in business for myself) and for the next 10 years that’s basically all I did.
BIG MISTAKE!
You never want to keep ALL YOUR EGGS in ONE basket!
I used to teach people about diversifying their investments, to reduce the risk (and it’s proven itself big time in this market).
But what about diversifying your income?
A book I read about 8 years ago or so, Multiple Streams of Income, has sparked this idea in me. I realized I’m only relying on ONE source of income. And I DON’T CARE how great that source maybe, you never bet all your stakes on one stock, company, or opportunity.
That’s a FACT! (Just look at what happenned to all those people who had most of their retirement money in GM stock, and their job there too)
So late in 2005, I made a decision, that I will not put my future in the hands of any one compnay or any one business. And for the last 4 years I’ve been really focused on creating multiple streams of income, particularly online.
Now if you’re just starting out, I don’t recommend you jump into 10 things. Start with one, but keep your options open, and look for opportunities. There are a lot of them.
Now once you know the basics of what it takes to make money online, get traffic to your website, it’s transferable. When you know how to succeed with one venture, you can succeed with others.
So let me share with you some ideas of where to begin.
http://www.google.com/insights/search/#
and
Google Insights and Google Trends – are 2 phenomenal tools, that you can use to see what people are searching for online, what the trend has been like over the last few years.
- What they search for?
- Have the searches increased or decreased?
- What countries search the most for that information?
- What are the TOP 100 trends/searches RIGHT NOW?
What’s useful about all this information? Well when people search for something that means they’re interested in it. That means there’s a market for it and it’s possible that you can find a product or an offer that these people would be interested in.
See most people think in reverse. They get an idea for a widget, and then try to figure out a way to find people interested in the widget.
But if you know that there are people already searching for some kind of a widget (be it an opportunity, a movie, a book, some kind of technology, THEN you can find an offer, a program or a product, either as an affiliate, a reseller, and/or a distributor, and offer it to them)
See you find demand FIRST, then you identify the best offer for that market.
Sounds simple?
It is.
Here are few more sites you can use to find what people are looking for. This is pure GOLD.
http://pulse.ebay.com/ – you can see what specific items are being searched on Ebay (this what people actually spend money on)
http://buzz.yahoo.com/ - Yahoo Buzz, what people are talking about and most interested in right now. Latest topics.
http://www.quantcast.com/ – THIS IS REALLY COOL! Type in a popular site, and see what other websites people go to, that come to this site. Plus see the demographics (age, sex, location) of the people that come to this site.
These are some basic tools you can use to research and see what’s out there, what people are looking for and what potential areas of opportunities exist.
Opportunities are EVERYWHERE, especially in this economy.
People are lookin to:
- Make Money
- Save Money
- Get Out Of Debt
- Fix Their Credit
- Consolidate
- Get Advice
- Get Healthy
- Entertainment
- Convenience
- Travel
- Cars/Homes/Luxuries
- Video Games
- Weight Loss
etc….. too much to list here.
You can point your finger in any one of these and make money with it.
You just have to open your mind and see what’s out there.
I welcome your comments and ideas.
